Welcome back! We hope you have had a lovely break and are ready for the Autumn term.
The teacher in Nursery is Mrs Flanagan. The teaching assistant is Miss Johnson.
Autumn 1 Learning
We have covered basic skills such as holding a pencil and learning to write our names with guidance from support staff. Our Topic is the Jungle and we have been looking at the story of Dear Zoo.
Autumn 2 Learning
Next half term will be the run-up to Christmas. We will be doing lots of festive activities and learning our songs for the Christmas play.
Spring 1 Learning
We are learning about different authors such as Julia Donaldson. We have done lots of different activities around these stories to help improve our cutting skills. We have been doing counting activities, learning number formation and number recognition of numbers from 1-10. We find our names every morning to help with name recognition.
Spring 2 Learning
In Spring 2 we will be learning all about how things grow. We will be experimenting by growing our own seeds into plants and we will have the experience of watching eggs hatch into chicks.
Nursery door opens at 9am and children are to be picked up at 12 noon.
Children staying all day are to be picked up at 3pm from Nursery
Mrs Green will cover the class in my absence with Miss Johnson.
Children will be given homework on Thursdays. Please help your child to complete their homework and ensure it is returned by Tuesday.
Children have milk and fruit available free of charge in the morning. Children that stay all day get a bagel for snack in the afternoon.
Please ensure that your child has a set of spare clothes (named) with them in case of any accidents, including getting wet outside in the water.
Children will be able to choose a book from our book area to take home each week. Please share this book with your child and return it each Tuesday to be changed.
We use Dojo points in school to reward positive behavior. You can see the points your child has been awarded. Please sign up and stay in touch.
This half term we are learning about Authors, such as, Julia Donaldson, Martin Waddell, David McKee and Jill Murphy. In Maths we will be practising our number and counting skills. We will also be learning about shape and space.
