Welcome back! I hope that you have all had an enjoyable and restful summer holiday and are ready for a new school year and our new term.
The teacher in Year 6 is Mr Bowden. The teaching assistants are Mrs Green and Miss Heron.
Homework will be given out on Thursday’s and will need to be returned by the following Wednesday.
New spellings will be sent home on Fridays and will be tested every Thursday.
Reading books and a reading journal have been given to your child. Please encourage them to read these on a daily basis. It is important that children read as much as possible at home to maximise their potential. Please comment in their reading journal whenever you have read with them.
If you would like to provide your child with a healthy snack, they can keep this in their bag. If you would prefer to have an extra snack provided for your child by the school, there is a cost of 20p per day. The children are responsible for looking after this money, and buying the snack at play time.
Please provide your child with a labelled water bottle. These can only be filled with water (not juice!).
PE will be on Thursday afternoons and Friday afternoons. Children will need a white top, with black shorts and trainers or pumps. As the weather is very changeable lately it is advised to have a pair of long pants and a jacket available. The subject that we will be doing in PE is Tag Rugby.
Our topics this half term are Evolution and Living Things, and physical and human geography.
