Welcome to Year 4KB!

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and your child to a new year at Lyndhurst Primary School. I am pleased as all the children are settling in well and I am sure that this year will be a successful one for all if we continue to work well and try our hardest!

The teacher in Year 4 is Miss Blyth. The teaching assistant is Mrs Knight.

We will be giving out homework on Thursdays that will be due the following Tuesday and weekly spellings will be given out on a Friday ready for a test the following Friday, participation from all is expected.

Reading Books

As well as weekly homework, your child has a reading book which you should aim to read every night for 5-10 minutes.  Please make a note of any reading you do in your reading record.  Please do not feel you have to read an entire book every night.  We will change the children’s books once a week if they know them and can read them fluently.

Snack/ Water

If you would like to provide your child with a healthy snack, they can keep this in their bag. If you would prefer to have an extra snack provided for your child by the school, there is a cost of 20p per day. The children are responsible for looking after this money, and buying the snack at play time.

Please provide your child with a labelled water bottle. These can only be filled with water (not juice!).

Year 4 will do PE in school on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  They will need a full PE kit in school. This must include black shorts, a white t-shirt and a pair of black PE pumps.  All clothing must be named.
